Pete Fountain's House Goes To HDLC!

A part of New Orleans rich musical history had its roots in a modest home at 820 North White Street in the Bayou St. John neighborhood. The legendary Pete Fountain grew up there, next door to his grandmother." The home now will be up for consideration for a local landmark on August 2 1:30pm, at the HDLC (Historic District Landmarks Commission) meeting at City Hall, 1300 Perdido Street.

The nomination was put forth and researched by Louisiana Landmarks. Sandra Stokes In her letter to the HDLC, wrote "the structure was not only Fountain’s boyhood home, but it also exemplifies the architecture of working-class housing of the time. Read more here.
