Louisiana Landmarks presents: “From holy cross to doubles becoming dormitories: New Orleans’ Most Endangered Sites
For more than a decade, Louisiana Landmarks Society has convened an interdisciplinary review panel to select the city's nine most endangered historic sites from among hundreds of public submissions. The annual listing has helped draw attention to landmark buildings in disrepair as well as trends affecting homes and neighborhoods citywide. Numerous once-endangered sites have been or are being restored, including St. Roch Market, St. Francis DeSales Church, McDonogh 16, Myrtle Banks Elementary, and Orpheum Theater. Use this archive to explore each year’s list.
